Updating your Device using the Tool
Most devices work out of the box and do not need to be programmed. Only update if you are having issues or would like new features!
- Connect your device to your computer and launch the programming tool. Then click Reset to factory.
- Then, with the proper Device Type and Device Variant selected, click Erase and Configure. If you are not sure which Variant to use, stick with the Default.
- Wait until the status bar at the bottom of the window reaches 100%. After that you can close the programming tool and use your device!
Updating your Device using direct files
If you are having issues with or cannot download or use the Programming Tool, you can download the firmware file you need and apply it to your device directly. Keep in mind you cannot do any calibration or customization using this method.
- Hold down the BOOT button on your device WHILE plugging it into your PC. On most V3 adapters this will be a pinhole button that can be accessed with a thin piece of metal like a pin or paperclip. Other adapters have a small U shaped BOOT button. Kitted guitars have a gold BOOT button directly on the Zeroboard.
- A removable drive named "RPI-PR2" will pop up if the previous step was done correctly. You can also see this drive on the left panel of your File Explorer.
- Via the link below, find the folder for your device, then download the firmware file for the preset you want to program onto your device:
- Copy and paste the firmware file onto the RPI-RP2 drive. Once the file is copied, the RPI-RP2 drive will disappear. After it does, wait 10 seconds, then you can unplug or use your device!
